Expectations

I look forward to working together as
a team this school year so that your child can reach their personal
best. The expectations listed below are guidelines which will
help your child have a successful school year.
1. Read with your child every night for at least 20 minutes. Talk
to your child about the characters, setting, problems and solutions.
Ask your child how they would feel if these events were happening
to them. Make this a priority each and everyday.
2. Help your child with homework assignments. Homework will ALWAYS
be practice or review of a skill previously taught in the classroom.
Therefore, homework is expected to be done by the student. If
your child has difficulty with a problem it is okay to help; however,
if your child does not understand the concept please indicate
this on the homework log so that I can work with them to insure
that they understand.
3. Check the STAR binder daily. Please be sure to sign the homework
and reading logs nightly. Any important school forms will also
be found here.
4. Make sure your child is prepared for school. Regular attendance
and punctuality is essential for success! Backpacks, S.T.A.R.
folder, school supplies, breakfast, etc…
5. Communicate with me about your child. Writing quick notes on
the homework log is an easy way to communicate with me on a daily
basis! Also please feel free to e-mail
me. You may also call the school office at 239-6380.
6. Please notify me in advance if there will be any changes in
how your child is to get home from school.
7. Attend conferences and meetings as necessary to communicate
about the specific needs of your child.
8. PLEASE insure that your contact information is up to date up
with both the office and me in case of emergency. This is for
the safety of your child.
